Recording & punch-ins
Get a clean take down, or fix one line, without losing your place.
Steps
- 1
Open a Studio session, choose the input on the track's fader, and arm the track.
- 2
Press Record. Press Stop when you're done — the take is saved straight away.
- 3
To fix part of a take, set the punch in and punch out points on the timeline, arm the track and press Record. Only the space between the two points is replaced.
- 4
Punch-ins are saved the moment you stop. There is no keep-or-discard step — if you don't like it, press Undo and the previous audio comes back. Redo puts the punch back.
- 5
Each punch shows as its own piece on the track, like a tape edit. Bounce the track when you want the pieces joined into one recording.
Tips
- The app warns you if the input drops out, the level clips, or a recording is very long.
- Record in Chrome or Brave. Privacy browsers like DuckDuckGo block the microphone without telling you.
- With the desktop engine installed, recording runs through the engine for lower latency.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing listed under the fader's input — allow microphone access in the browser, then arm the track again to refresh the list.
