Proof of authorship

Keep dated evidence of how a song came to be, in case you ever have to prove it.

Steps

Open a song or a ScratchPad and scroll to the Authorship trail at the bottom.

Every meaningful action is recorded automatically: recordings, lyric and chart drafts, renames, promotions and deletions — each with a timestamp and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the file.

Click Compare on two text drafts to see exactly what changed between them. Compare appears once you have at least two drafts.

Click Report to print the trail on its own — only the authorship trail is printed, not the rest of the app.

Use the share link on the trail to give someone read-only access to the evidence, and reset that link whenever you want.

Fingerprints are computed from the files in your own cloud drive, so the trail points at real artefacts.
Entries can't be edited or backdated — that's what makes the trail worth something.
