Rehearse & prove your work
Backing tracks & the stem mixer
Rehearse or perform to your own stems with full control over the mix.
Steps
- 1
Go to Backing Tracks and create a track, then point it at the folder in your cloud drive that holds the stems.
- 2
Each file becomes a channel. Set the level with the fader, and use mute and solo to work on one part at a time.
- 3
Drag channels left or right to put the mix in the order you think in.
- 4
Open a channel's effects panel for its own processing, and the mastering panel for the whole mix.
- 5
Drop markers on the timeline, and loop between two of them to drill a section.
- 6
Save the settings you like as a named mix, then load it again any time. Defaults puts everything back.
- 7
Use the mixdown option to render a stereo file and write it back to your own drive.
Tips
- Stems download to the device before playback, so a weak signal at the venue doesn't interrupt you.
- Tempo and key controls work here too — see the tempo and key guide.
- Backing Tracks is included from the Pro plan up.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing loads — check the folder actually contains audio files, and that the drive is still connected on Files → Drives.
