Print effects to a new track

Keep a heavy effects chain's sound while freeing up your computer.

Steps

  1. 1

    Right-click a track and choose Print effects….

  2. 2

Name the new track and press Print.

  3. 3

A new track appears below with every effect baked in, including reverb and delay tails. It keeps the volume, pan, colour and automation.

  4. 4

The original track is muted with its effects switched off, so you can go back to it later.

  5. 5

Choose Turn effects back on on the original to restore it, or Undo to remove the printed track.

Tips

  • Presets are printed too — the new track starts with a blank effects rack you can add to.
